2025 International Workshop on Geochemical Mapping Successfully Held in Langfang by the UNESCO International Centre on Global-Scale Geochemistry
The 2025 International Workshop on Geochemical Mapping was successfully held by the UNESCO International Centre on Global-Scale Geochemistry (hereinafter referred to as the “Centre”, ICGG) in Langfang, Hebei Province recently. The seven-day workshop brought together 24 participants from 13 countries in all.
The workshop covered geochemical mapping theory and techniques, sample analysis, data processing and software application. Through multiple forms of training, including indoor lectures, field practice, and on-site visits and group exchanges, the workshop helped participants systematically acquire key skills for geochemical data application on resource assessment and environment monitoring. The participants visited the Geochemical Sample Bank, the ICGG Exhibition Room, and the Laboratory Testing Centre, and attended the Seminar on “Chemical Earth” International Big Science Program.
ICGG has held a total of 43 International Workshops on Geochemical Mapping since its establishment, systematically trained 1,090 participants from 58 countries. The training have effectively enhanced the technical capacity of the developing countries in this field, and have been highly commended by UNESCO.
