After the implementation of the IGCP 259 and IGCP 360 projects, a total of nine global-scale geochemical baseline projects have been carried out worldwide, involving nearly 40 countries and covering an area of approximately 32 million km², accounting for about 22% of the global land area. These projects analyzed 60 to 81 indicators and provided baseline values for all chemical elements related to resources, environment, and agriculture, which will play an irreplaceable role in global resource assessment and environmental protection.
